The bathroom is a perfect place for people who are fond of taking showers, indulging in luxurious bubble baths and having mini-pampering sessions right at the comforts of their own homes. It provides a pleasurable experience that no other room in the house can provide. This is why a lot of people are spending a huge chunk of their monthly salary in order to buy beautifying products that are invading the market today. There are foot scrubs, exfoliating facial wash, candy-scented body wash and aromatherapy candles to satisfy even the most jaded wellness aficionado.

It comes without saying that if you are willing to invest in your collection of home spa products, you must also be interested too improve your bathroom area in order to promote a total pampering experience. Forking out a few hundred to a thousand grand is not such a big deal if you know that you will benefit from it physically, mentally and emotionally. Yes, it\’s true that everyone is still undergoing the ill effects of the economic crisis. However, if you have enough money saved even for indulging in your caprices, make this as a top priority.

Create a budget with the help of friends or family members who have already remodeled or renovated their bathrooms so that you will know how much cash to prepare. They can also refer you to their plumbers or contractors so that you won\’t get scammed. They might also recommend an interior designer if you feel like you are not yet ready to decide on the bathroom decors on your own. This way, the designer will help you verbalize what you want and help you execute it.

The most essential task to fulfill when you want to make an elegant-looking bathroom is to select a motif. A lot of options are available for you to choose from. You may get ideas from design magazines or by watching Martha Stewart on the boob tube. There are African prints that will remind you of their famous savannahs, Asian patterns that showcase their rich heritage, European-inspired designs that evokes feelings of being in a Mediterranean home and so on. Add a personal touch if you want by adding some figurines or fancy-looking handle bars.

Go with the season flow by updating your shower curtains or door rugs to match the outside weather. When spring comes, green curtains will look attractive. You have the option if you choose mint green, apple green, lime green or moss green. Summer is the perfect opportunity to purchase a shower curtain in vibrant colors like orange, yellow and sky blue. Autumn requires deeper shades so a purple or reddish-brown rug will look great in your bathroom door. Meanwhile, red and green are appropriate during winter as Christmas approaches.

A second way to increase the style factor of the bathroom is to paint the color of the walls with the shade that appeals to your sensibilities. There are a lot of hues to choose from. No matter what your choice will be, you will always have an easy time looking for it because paint companies are now aware of the judicious needs of their clients.

Third, exploit the reflective power of mirrors to make your bathroom appear larger. Another advantage of large mirrors is the reduce need for light bulbs because they can easily illuminate any room.

Utilize these tips and have the elegant bathroom you have been dreaming of.

There are several critical keys that you must think of before you begin planning your basement bathroom design. Two such things are the need for flush up toilets and the basement bathroom installation as a whole. Professional help is not needed but you should take good care so that you know what you\’re doing.

Many homeowners enjoy making their own unique and creative improvements to their home. Texturing drywall is a popular decorating choice that adds character and charm to your walls and ceiling. \”Texturing\” is often done to add a unique fashion design, muffle external noises, or to cover scratches and marks on the wall or ceiling. When you understand the basic steps to texturing drywall, it can be quite an easy and inexpensive project.

The following lists the steps required to texture drywall:

1. The first step is to acquire the texture materials and prepare the room. You need to have a big bucket of premixed drywall joint compound, stencils, wide-bladed taping knife, soft-bristled brush, and plastic sheeting. Once you have the materials, you need to clear the room of such items as any appliances, furniture, wall decorations – etc. Anything you cannot remove, cover with plastic sheeting or old sheets. As well, you have to remove any wall paper.

2. The next step is to take your taping knife and dunk it in the bucket of drywall compound. Begin by spreading the material around key areas such as baseboards and corners. Once you have spread the compound on the small and awkward areas, you can start to add a coat of the compound on the walls. The thickness will vary according to personal preference. Thicker spreading will allow for a rougher texture. Most experts recommend approximately 1/8th inch thickness if one does not want the wall or ceiling too thick.

3. It is important not slap on large amounts of compound. You should spread and smooth slow and even until you get use to the process. Drywall compound stays a manageable consistency so you do not have to hurry. Results will be better if you spread the material in small areas. As well, switch between applying the compound and texturing it until the entire wall is covered. For this process, hire professional painters if necessary.

4. The next step is to create the designs. The thought behind texturing drywall is to create random designs. You can use different types of texture tools such as sponges, wallpaper brushes, or a paintbrush. Stencils are used to add pre-made designs. You can also use your fingers to make the designs. Popular designs include popcorn, skiptrowel which resembles Spanish style stucco, and splatter which are small splotches that resemble the orange peel. Paintbrushes can be used to spread the compound in circular patterns, up and down, and side to side. Sponges can be used to make innovative designs.

It is important to be aware that drywall compound will dry into white and brittle material, so you should not rub anything against it. Once the drywall completely dries, you can then paint it the color of your choice. If you are unsure about any step in the process, you can always talk to a representative at a home improvement store. Adding texture and unique designs to your walls can be a rewarding and fun project. Once complete, you can stand back and enjoy your creative work that will be the envy of your friends and neighbors.

Enrich the beauty in your building\’s renovation by texturing drywall. With years of experience in the remodeling business, our painters will give impeccable quality service to fulfill your stucco Toronto, textures, and patterns requirements.

People are very conscious about how they spend their hard earned cash. Most decisions take a long time to process. If there are doubts, another round of careful deliberation is being conducted in order to make sure that one has reached the correct decision. Even if this is a tiring task, a lot of people would prefer going through this than waste money unnecessarily.

Obviously, this is an understandable predicament. After all, why would you squander a few thousand bucks for something that is not worth it?

This is why homeowners meticulously plan the design, layout and indoor details of their new home. An obvious advantage of constructing more than one bathroom is that it will keep you and your fellow house occupants from engaging in a verbal tussle at the break of dawn. As numerous cases have shown, it is not unusual for parents and kids to squabble on who get to the bathroom first. If everybody is pressured to come to the office or school on time, everybody will lose their temper. This will not be a great way to start the day. It is imperative that cooler heads step in so that no fistfight or hair pulling moments would occur. Don’t you think this is a great solution to an ordinary problem?

Second, you will have somewhere to go to if one bathroom is not in its optimum state. This means that if there is plumbing or drainage system problems which can cause water to rise and eventually flood the whole room, your life will not instantly turn into shambles. You can still run to the spare bathroom and have a quick shower so that you can reach the office before the bell rings. It will also give you enough time to call the plumber for a quick repair or maintenance check. This is an advantage that you should be really thankful for.

Third, if you have visitors who are staying overnight or even for a week, they can be assured of privacy because they will not need to share a bathroom with you. They can also place their stuff for personal hygiene without worrying that they will be a burden to you.

As you have just read, the three paragraphs explain the importance of two or more bathrooms in a household. Take them into consideration as you plan so that you can get the benefits later on in life.

Chairs as we know is a raised surface that we use to sit on usually for only one person at a time. There are so many different types of chairs depending on the specific use of the chair. There are regular plastic or metal chairs, car seats, chairs with wheels attached to them called wheel chairs and so on.

When a chair is designed to be longer so that it can hold more than one occupant comes under various names such as sofas, settees and even a “loveseat” We can see that the design of the chair is intrinsic to the culture that they come from. There are chairs that have spacious and ventilated back rests and some others are designed to be portable.

The basic concept of the chair is very old and seen in some form or other in just about every ancient civilization. In most of the old civilizations the chair was seen either as symbol of power or as a luxury. The chair would represent an authority. It still is in some ways like that to this day. You see titles such as chairman and chair person.

As far as Europe goes it was not until the renaissance that the chair slowly became a common and acceptable item for most people. The attitude began to change and the idea was that if you could afford one you could buy and own one. With that attitude change the chair slowly became a widely used and accepted piece of furniture.

Of course nowadays the chair is as common as anything else that we take for granted and we may not even notice one unless it is made to look very modern or “spiffy”. One type of chair that has been around for a long time but has reinvented itself with more modern designs is the modern rocking chair. It looks just like any other chair but with the added comfort and relaxation of an old style rocking chair.

How to paint, materials needed: water; bleach; blocking primer, blue masking tape, crack filler; baseboard masking and 220 grit sandpaper.

Tools: bucket, rubber gloves, drop cloth, stepladder, sponge, screwdriver, putty knife, sanding block, 2 inch nylon brush, 9 inch roller, and paint tray.

In order to paint, move all the furniture away from the walls and put the drop cloth on the floor.

All dents, cracks or holes have to be fixed with crack filler. Upon drying, use the sandpaper to smooth out the crack filler.

If you find mildew, use bleach water and rubber gloves to wash that area.

Rinse the wall with clean water making sure to remove dirt and dust. Let it dry over night.

Any area that had to be repaired needs to be painted first with primer. Then, tape off the trim. After the primer has dried, continue to add primer to the entire wall and ceiling, if repainting the ceiling. Once the ceiling is dry, use the blue tape to tape it off so the paint from painting the walls will not get on the ceiling.

To lessen the appearance of brush strokes, run the roller over the area as close to the tape as possible.

Start at the top of the wall and work your way down. Always, roll up on the first stroke.

Smooth bumps or high spots with a putty knife or 120 grit sandpaper, when the primer dries. Removing dust requires wiping the wall using a damp rag on the wall.

The trim requires paint and primer as well; but, waits until the walls and ceiling are dry.

Sponging on or off: paper plates; roller and pan to be used for base coat; glaze; stepladder; latex paint; coffee filters; latex gloves and sea sponge.

The unpredictability of the holes and different textures of a sea sponge give a calmer look.

Glaze is meant to slow the drying time. It also provides a see-through type finish since it has no coloring. For the mixture instructions, read the manufacturer’s label.

Use a piece of drywall if wanting to test different mixture ratios and to practice.

If the base color is being changed, start with the steps at the mentioned at the beginning.

Now that the base color is dry, mix the second color and glaze. Using a small amount of the mix, pour it onto the plate. Dampen the sponge with water. Squeeze as much water out as possible. Now dip the sponge in the glaze mixture.

Dab the sponge on the wall turning your wrist in different directions between each application. Use different areas of the sponge.

To achieve the wanted look, use the coffee filter to pat the sponge on every once in awhile. This will unclog the holes the in the sponge.

Every once in awhile step back and look at the work. If there is too much paint in some areas, press the clean damp sponge on the area to lift off the extra paint.

To sponge off an area, apply the glaze to an area after the base coat has dried.

So the glaze does not smear, place the sponge on it and lift straight off. This will remove the glaze. Clean the sponge when it needs it. Repeat the step for the entire wall area.

At Total KM you can find out how to paint your home in addition to other methods and techniques.

Any home building project will requires careful thought and planning, especially when designing a floor plan. The biggest task when designing a floor plan is the actual planning of the architectural drawings. It may seem challenging, however, designing a floor is not as difficult as it may seem. There are a number of factors that have to be taken into account when you design a floor plan.

The following are factors to consider when designing a floor plan:

1. One essential factor to take into account when planning your floor design plan is you have to consider your budget. Will you be getting a loan? If so, how much can you afford? If you are working on a tight budget, you may have to adjust your budget. As well, make sure you can afford the monthly payments and consider any other parts of the project that will require funding.

2. You also have to take the location of the house into consideration when designing a floor plan as it may affect the design that you choose. Consider the shape of the house, the size of the house (square footage), the number of rooms in the house, and whether an open floor plan or segmented plan would be the best choice. The type of floor plan will often depend on where the various rooms are located. For instance, are the dining room, kitchen, and living room one big area or are they separate rooms?

3. You must also consider environmental elements that can affect your floor design such as if you want the rooms facing the open sun or in front of a tree for shade. It is important to remember that the sun heats the room on cold days, and a big overhang above the windows will provide shade from the sun when it is at its highest point of the day. The directions, such as the south side and north side, where the sun will be better for a specific room, such as the living room, are an important consideration. It is also important to factor in the sound. For instance, bedrooms should be located where there is less traffic and noise so sleep will not be disrupted.

4. You also have to factor in such features as where to place certain rooms such as putting bathrooms close together to avoid expensive plumbing installation costs. As well, consider where closets will be located, and if you put in a den or office room, you may want a quiet location so that you can work uninterrupted.

When considering the factors that affect the design of a floor plan, it is important consider the function the room (entertaining, working, sleeping), cost, your needs and your family needs, traffic habits, comfort features, source of light, safety, wiring, plumbing, ventilation, dcor of the room, furnishings, and arrangement and size of the furniture. Once you have taken all of these factors into account, you will be able to create a great floor design that will meet your needs for many years.

If you would like to be able to take a nice long bath but your bathroom is too small to fit a traditional sized tub, a corner bathtub shower unit may be just what you need. Though primarily designed for soaking, you may find them better than a conventional large sized tub. Of course, there are shower  stalls of all sizes. The addition of a showerhead makes this choice perfect for those who like to take showers as well. Though bigger bathrooms can afford to separate the bath and a shower stall, the smaller ones would feel satisfied with an all-in-one set up.

There are many different corner shower tubs available, so you should be able to find the perfect style and design for you. And it’s easy to find right corner tub shower combo on the market. The shape of the tub will be a big factor; there are standard shapes such as oval and triangle, or you may want something unusual like a fun heart shape. These tubs are also offered in a variety of colors, so it will be easy to find one that matches your overall color scheme. For a more traditional look you may opt for a tub in white or crème color. On the other hand, if you want to bring in some excitement, you get them in a large variety of colors and shades of red, green, blue and maroon etc.

Another factor that needs your attention while choosing a corner bathtub is the material used for its construction. Generally the material used is fiberglass or acrylic, so you have a choice. Both of these are ideal for a bathtub , though acrylic may be expected to have a longer life and its color don’t fade away over the years. Both these materials are able to resist cracks and scratches to a fairly good extent but fiberglass is not so durable and thus likely to develop these problems. So, check everything you can on bath tub showers before buying something.
